Shared Postcard FAQ

What's included when I buy a spot?

Every spot comes with:

  • A custom ad, designed by us, included in the price of advertising
  • An offer we build with you, designed to convert recipients to take action
  • Unlimited revisions until you're satisfied, and your written sign-off before anything prints
  • A tracked QR code on the ad
  • A mobile-optimized webpage the QR points to
  • A lead capture form, so the people who respond to your offer are logged, and their contact details stored for you to follow up with immediately and market to in the future
  • One business per category. No competitors, or businesses with overlapping services, share a card

Do you design the ad, or do I?

We do, and it is included. You share info on your business, we design the ad, and you approve it before it prints. Unlimited revisions until you're satisfied.

Who comes up with what we say and offer on the ad?

We do, with your feedback and approval. The offer is the part that actually makes direct mail campaigns drive ROI. And most direct mail campaigns don't do this well. We bring you a couple of options built on direct-response principles and you pick the direction.

Does my offer have to be a discount?

An offer does not have to be a discount. For a lot of businesses, a free guide, a giveaway, or a no-cost consultation pulls better than a percentage off ever would.

A common route we suggest for our advertisers is informational marketing. Rather than asking someone to purchase from you the moment they see your ad, your goal is for them to provide contact info in exchange for information or other materials you can share. This signals intent, builds a database you can market to, and builds awareness of your brand for when the need arises for your product or service.

What is the QR code for?

It is a tool to measure results and make it easy for recipients to take the action you want them to. Every ad we run carries one. We use dynamic QR codes, so we can change where the QR code directs a recipient who scans it without needing to reprint your ad. Every scan is logged in a real-time dashboard you can log in to and view performance.

What happens when someone scans it?

They land on a mobile page we build for your campaign. The page is built to turn a curious scan into a lead interested in engaging with you. We shape this landing page to your business. Some common formats we employ: a free-guide signup, a photo gallery with an estimate request, a coupon offer in exchange for contact info, or a quote form as examples.

How do I get the leads, and do I keep them?

When someone fills out that page, their name and contact details hit your inbox right away. That contact is yours to keep and market to for as long as you want. Also, they are stored in bulk in our dashboard. You can download all the leads with one button press and import them into your own CRM, spreadsheet, or anywhere else you prefer.

Do you guarantee results?

No, and be careful with anyone who does. We cannot promise you a specific number of calls from a postcard. And as a rule we don't. What I will promise is that we build every part of this campaign (the offer, the ad design, the tracking, the page, and the follow-up) to give your business the best shot at the results direct mail can produce.

Can you show me an example?

Here's a funnel we built for Cleona Coffee Roasters. A discount promo with a QR code that directs to a landing page we built. The landing page collects email addresses, and behind that gate you're shown a discount code and a link to the Cleona Coffee website to shop products (with the promo code saved to the user's copy and paste clipboard).
